For these reasons it is my intention, unless you

instruct me by telegram to the contrary, provisionally to

offer Sir Henry Pollock re-appointment for another five years

from the 9th March, 1936. Although 72 years of age he remains

in full possession of his powers and unremitting in his public

service on the Councils and other bodies.

The appointments foreshadowed in this despatch will

form the subject of separate despatches in the customary form,

but the almost simultaneous ending of the terms of all my

Unofficial Executive Councillors so early in my governorship

seemed to me to require the review which I have given in the

preceding paragraphs.
